I don’t want to get my dog groomed in the winter. I want the extra hair to keep him warm. Is this ok?

Dogs need regular grooming to help keep their skin and fur in shape. If the hair becomes matted, it does not give the dog protection from the cold. Just as layering keeps you warm in the winter, dogs need their hair brushed out so they have insulation from the cold.
